With the Jubilee celebrations in full swing throughout the Town, the Lodge of Obedience opened their doors to the public on Saturday 4th and Sunday the 5th of June.

1753 open day at obedience

With support from the “membership team”, members of the Lodge welcomed over 50 visitors and gave them a tour of the Temple Room, along with an insight into Freemasonry in general and Okehampton in particular.

Both days were incredibly positive and those attending were really interested in hearing about the history and about Freemasonry in the community.

Several people took away further information about joining the Lodge including two Masons looking to re-join and also a Lewis who was looking to follow in the footsteps of his Father, Grand Father and Great GrandFather.

All in all a great weekend and L1753 is looking forward to [hopefully] receiving enquiries for membership over the coming months.
