W. Bro Keith Williams AGDCIn April 2020 W. Bro. Keith Williams our Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies was promoted to the active rank of Assistant Grand Director Of Ceremonies at Grand Lodge in London, of which the Province of Devonshire is rightly proud.

Unfortunately as we are all aware Covid 19 raised its ugly head and the Investiture Meeting was cancelled. But compensation came when he received a phone call on the morning of the Investiture Meeting from Right Worshipful Sir David Hugh Wootton the Assistant Grand Master congratulating him on my Active Appointment.

Due to the continued Covid Pandemic, Keith together with the other Active Grand Officers of the year have been re-appointed for 2021-22. Masonry like most of normal life was suspended and Keith’s chance to take part in Quarterly Communications meetings were also affected and when they re-commenced it was with very limited and invited only Brethren.

From the middle of 2021 the invitations to the Quarterly Communications were opened up and he was fortunate to be able to attend on Wednesday 8th December 2021 when this photograph was taken of Keith wearing the Grand Lodge Regalia, a very proud day for him and for Devonshire. The Regalia is kept at Grand Lodge and is only used there or sometimes at Meetings when an Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies is accompanying one of the Rulers.

Keith was initiated in Torbay Lodge No. 1358 on 30th April 1996, Passed on 25th June 1996 and Raised on 29th April 1997. He was installed into the Chair of King Solomon on the 30th November 2004. His journey to the great heights he has now achieved began when he became Lodge DC in November 2007 remaining in office until becoming the active Provincial DGDC in 2013 and again promoted to PrGDC in 2018 a position he still holds.

Keith is also a member of Torbay Chapter No.1358 HRA. Where he was exalted in October 2005 and is currently an active Provincial Grand Steward.
