On Thursday 9th December Courtland Lodge In Paignton held their now famous Christmas meeting only this year with a reduced number attending, not that that made any difference to the sound level attained by those singing Christmas Carols at the festive board.
The theme of the meeting was Masonic Teddys, in the Lodge W. Bro. Keith Bower gave us an enlightening lecture about the history of the Teddy Bear as well as the amazing results that he and his team of Freemasons have achieved here in Devon with the distribution of Masonic Teddys, which as Keith stated could only have happened thanks to the Brethren’s generosity. Keith also unveiled the new and improved edition of the Masonic Teddy for everyone to see.

All present then retired down to a wonderful festive board after which they played a game of bingo the main prize being a Steif Paddington Bear, they also held the usual raffle, the results of which raised a total of almost £500 for charity.
A wonderful evening was had by all who attended and they thanked the Brethren of Courtland and wished everybody a Happy Christmas.
