At the Lodge of Concord 1135, meeting at The Masonic Temple, Northfield Road, Ilfracombe on Wednesday 9th January 2019, W. Bro Robin Hagley PPrJGW was presented with a Fifty Year Certificate by W. Bro Charles Yelland PSGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.


Robin had been initiated into the Lodge of Concord on Wednesday 8th February 1969 by his Father, W. Bro Frederick Hagley.

The Worshipful Master proffered the Gavel to the Asst Provincial Grand Master who declined to rule over the lodge but thanked the WM for the courtesy shown the office he said he was privileged to hold.

W. Bro Yelland, who had assisted the Lodge Members with the secret very ably, then invited a shocked W. Bro Robin Hagley to the floor of the Lodge.

Ancient minutes from 1968 and 1969 were read to detail W. Bro Hagley’s Proposal, Initiation, Passing and Raising ; all of which were at the hand of his Father.

Ancient minutes from 1979 and 1999 were also read regarding his installation as Master of The Lodge on two occasions.

W. Bro Yelland then presented W. Bro Hagley with his certificate for 50 years service to Freemasonry and the Province of Devonshire, reporting on his extraordinary commitment to the Craft and other orders in Freemasonry, telling the Lodge that Robin is a Grand Officer in both the MARK and R.A.M. Degrees

The Senior Warden, Bro Martyn Cox, then presented W. Bro Robin with a gift from the members; A carved stone to commemorate his time in The Lodge of Concord 1135 and his dedication to it.

W. Bro Robin addressed the Brethren, thanking everyone for their support on this special evening, and remembering the Brethren who had been a part of his Masonic journey over the last Fifty Years.

W. Bro Robin then retired with rest of the Brethren to a most excellent Festive Board, which completed a very happy Masonic evening.
