A local charity that supports those with Motor Neurone Disease in the Plymouth area was recently assisted with a cheque from the William Alexander Kneel Endowment (W.A.K.E.) fund to the tune of £830. MDNA which, is run entirely by volunteers, uses the money to support those with the disease and their carers with the aim of improving their quality of life.
The WAKE fund cheque was presented to the MDNA representative Roger Box on Plymouth Hoe by Nick Ball and Pete Keaty with the Worshipful Master of Brunswick Lodge, Dean Harker in memory of Michael Kelly a Past Master of the Lodge who had been struck down by this terrible disease.
The request for support from the Wake fund had come from the Charity Steward in Brunswick Lodge 159, W.Bro. Dave Barrett.
